2015:

Villa Foligno provided a wonderful base for our extended family stay in Italy. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the BBQ, all the outside space and the comfortable bedrooms.

Our only concern was the difficult access. We had hired a minibus to transport us all together. The bus struggled to cope with the steep hill up to the villa and especially with the unpaved track to the villa once we left the hill road.

Would return, so much to see and do in the area. We loved Perugia, Assisi and Spoleto.

2013:

Hi,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Foligno which we found very comfortable, well equipped and very family friendly. We particularly made great use of the outdoor areas especially around the pool  and the barbecue facility. The location was very convenient with easy access to the surrounding towns such as Spoleto,Todi, Norcia, Perugia and and other lesser known towns. A special thanks goes to Sylvia who was always helpful whether to fix the boiler or the collapse of the wifi, she even organized the birth of 4 kittens during our stay much to the delight of the children.
My only, hopefully constructive, comment is for improved directions to the Villa particularly as access is through a road marked “No Entry”. Maybe a sign pointing to Villa Foligno would help. I would not hesitate to recommend the house particularly to a family group.

Best regards from Downunder,  Eddy

From 2011:

Dear Willemijn and Saskia,

we gladly react to your request for feedback of our holiday in Villa Foligno. We have had a lovely week and enjoyed wonderful weather, lots of sun, yet not too hot. The elegant house of host Esther (she received us and showed us around herself) felt like a warm bath. Beautiful interior with lots of antique furniture from past generations. One of the highlights was our cooking course with Sheila Santolamazza in the kitchen. She prepared, together with us, in a playful way wonderful dishes. The lady helping Sheila laid the table outside and to our big surprise the food was served and all was cleaned afterwards for us. Really good for the same price as having dinner out.

The swimming pool with the wonderful recliners and the huge lounge-bed were also very much appreciated. The only drawback were the insects in and around the house (the children sleeping in the downstairs bedroom had signs of bites but luckily the baby did not). Esther really did everything she could to resolve this.

Thanks you for the kind way of communicating and best host on behalf of Villa in Umbria!!

Best wishes, Maartje and the family

From 2010:

Dear Saskia and Willemijn,

We had a lovely time at Villa Foligno and were grateful for the wonderful weather.  The house, pool and grounds werejust beautiful.  We are very grateful to you particularly, Saskia, for all of your prompt, patient and useful information about the house and surrounding area.

In case this is useful to you, the owner might think about providing a bigger coffee maker - not an Italian one cup per person maker but one that serves many.  We also were a bit disturbed by the constantly barking dogs in the neighborhood - all through the night.  Other than that, it was great.

Many thanks and we will definitely recommend the property to friends.

Best, Alice

Hello Saskia and Willemijn,

We had a very nice week in Villa Foligno in May. We had some bad weather but really enjoyed ourselves despite this. The pool is very pretty (a bit cold), the location of the house is superb. You may want to mention on the website that during downpours the road can get uneven and muddy, no problem for our 'family's' but a sportswagon might find it more challenging. The house is splendid, spacious and with a nice atmosphere, liked the pooltable and lovely terraces. My friend is a pizza bake freak and thinks a pizza oven in the garden might be a welcome addition. We had a good time with our children  and would like to make use of your services in the future.

Kind regards, H.W.N.

2009:

Dear Saskia and Willemijn,

I apologize for not thanking you before now for all the help you gave us in situating us in that beautiful villa in Foligno. It was a dream vacation. I told all my friends that if they have an opportunity to go to Italy for an extended time to contact you. We had a wonderful time. The Lady of the house was very gracious, and I hope she was pleased for the way we left the place.

I would go back in a minute if the dollar was not so week to make a trip like that so expensive. But I hope I have another opportunity.

Thank you again for your excellent help.

Sincerely, Erica

The owner asks 40% of the rental fee upon booking and the rest one month prior to arrival. The security deposit is 500 euro, to be paid upon arrival.

In Italy the tourism tax has been introduced. Each town can decide independently whether to apply this tax. It is important to keep in mind that the prices on our website do NOT include the tourism tax. Where we received confirmation from house owners that they have to ask for this tax, it is written underneath the price table.
