Villa Collazzone

Villa Collazzone is a luxury villa in Umbria (Italy) with private swimming pool and tennis court. It is centrally located with excellent views and can host up to 6 guests.

"We have had a wonderful stay in Villa Collazzone. Its position is really fabulous."

The garden is well maintained and in mediterranean style. Views are gorgeous all around and the villa itself is comfortable the whole year around. There is a wifi connection. The English owners have furnished the house with some antiques, making the atmosphere very pleasant and homely.

The spacious covered terrace has a beautiful stone table and heavy iron chairs with cushions. From here the views are excellent, over the rolling green hills. Next to the kitchen another covered terrace has a wooden table. Here there also is a pizza oven and barbecue made in stone.

The panoramic swimming pool is a bit down the hill, just below the villa, to be reached by some stone steps. One side of the pool has an extra sitting room and bathroom. The bathroom can be used when using the pool. There is a lovely wooden table with some chairs and several recliners on the terrace around the pool. A huge umbrella provides the necessary shade. The pool is 12 by 6 meters and between 1.2 and 2.5 meters deep.

The tennis court is set below the pool area such that it is not visible from the pool nor from the villa. It is fully fenced and nearby a covered area gives some shade and from here you can view the tennis court well. The owners keep some rackets in the house that guests can use. The ground of the tennis court is synthetic grass (Astroturf).

Dear Saskia and Sylvia,

We had a lovely week at Villa Collazzone. All worked fine so I only have a few very minor comments about improvements:

I would suggest that the book with the instructions for the appliances be left somewhere obvious such as on the dining table as we didn't find it amongst the recipe books until a few days into our stay.

Also, the kitchen could have done with a better clean - the fridge had spills in it and the oven had a sticky, sweet smelling mass at the bottom and on the shelves which took a while to clean off.

The other thing we noticed was the tennis court has high netting at the ends but not on the sides. On the southern side, as you no doubt know, the hill drops steeply and is covered with trees. Our tennis is not great and a few balls ended up in the woods where we couldn't retrieve them so I would suggest having some higher netting in this area.

I hope these comments are useful. We loved the house and its beautiful setting and so enjoyed having a well cared for place - so many holiday properties are not. Also thank you for all your good organization and clear instructions and the assistance of Lucia regarding the cycling. Hopefully we will return!

Kind regards, Suzanne England

Comment of Villa in Umbria: Next time ask the cleaner to come by again for the oven! The lady is new to the house and will be instructed better. The netting around the tennis court had only just been redone. It’ll stay like this, high ends and lower on the sides. We made new pictures of the tennis court and placed these on the webpage.

From 2012:

Hi Willemijn and Saskia,

We have had a wonderful stay in Villa Collazzone. Its positions is really fabulous. The villa is well maintained, including the swimming pool and tennis court. All was nice and clean, lovely dinner-set, good quality towels, excellent beds. I would like to return to the sun, it was fantastic.

Also the guided tour in Castel Rigone were very nice! At first we thought 'Castel Rigone, what can one discover about it …?'. Yet we had a huge surprise, very good guide with a lot to say and notice and we loved the drink at the end. Really well done!

Thanks a lot. Natasja

The down payment is 20% of the rental sum to be paid upon booking. The balance of the rent has to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.

In Italy the tourism tax has been introduced. Each town can decide independently whether to apply this tax. It is important to keep in mind that the prices on our website do NOT include the tourism tax. Where we received confirmation from house owners that they have to ask for this tax, it is written underneath the price table.
