You might think it is a bit too early to go to paradise yet, after all life is not so bad! Paradise on earth however, would not be a bad choice!
"I can honestly say that we had the most relaxing holiday ever here."
Paradiso is the name of the area where this private villa with swimming pool is situated. Paradiso is close to Assisi, about 9 kilometers. A beautiful, tranquil area with green fields, olive groves and woodland. Peaceful and with wonderful views on the National Park of the Monte Subasio (Assisi is at the foothill of this mountain).
Il Paradiso is a private villa with swimming pool. Three bedrooms sharing two bathrooms. There is a snooker table and several things for children to play with. There is, for instance, a sliding cable in the garden.
The swimming pool is on the lowest terrace and is 12 meters by 6 and between 1.30 and 2.10 meters deep. There are Roman steps to one side, with whirlpool. There are 6 sun beds and 2 recliners and a table with chairs. There is also a pizza oven and wood barbecue at one side of the pool. A small wc is present as well.
3 kms down the hill is a good restaurant that also does take away and they have a small grocery store. The first large supermarket is at Santa Maria degli Angeli, about 12 kms away.
Other distances from the house: Gualdo Tadino 33 kms, Perugia 24 kms, Spello 11 kms, Spoleto 48 kms.
There is wifi.

One enters this private villa in the living room with a large dining table, a big wood stove and an angular sofa for 6. There is an open arch to get to the kitchen. The kitchen has a 5 pit gas cooker, electrical oven, big fridge/freezer combination, Italian espresso machine, a real slicing machine for cold cuts and a dishwasher.
Behind the living room there is an open area with another sofa and a bathroom with shower. Next door is the snooker room, this used to be the garage and it still has a garage door. Here you will also find the washing machine.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and one bathroom, also with shower. The bedrooms are two doubles and one twin. The twin can also be made into a double. There are two spare beds that can either be added to one of the double bedrooms as a bunk bed or you can have one extra single bed per double bedroom.
One bedroom has a door to a spacious terrace and from this terrace you can walk into the higher terrace of the garden (the garden is made into several terraces).
Throughout the house there is a built in radio system that you can tune into if you like. If you prefer silence, you can simply leave it switched off.
In front of the entrance a lovely outside table with chairs are placed under an old shady tree. Ideal for outside dining. The Weber barbecue works on charcoal and is very easy to use and move around.
There is a gate for cars as well as a pedestrian gate. You can either park outside the gate or on the property, below the villa. The driveway is rather steep.

Dear Saskia and Sylvia
Dear Saskia and Sylvia,
Thanks for a fabulous holiday. A little feedback for the owners. We loved the house, full of character, all the toys, great pool, fantastic location 15 min from Assisi, wonderful restaurant at the bottom of the hill, so please pass on our huge thanks. I work for a conservation organization so having the wildlife about was wonderful, especially the butterflies. However, the owners my like to check the house, as we had to deal with 4 black scorpions located about the house, one in a wash bag. Whilst this was not a problem for us, others may feel that is a bit of a generous supply of scorpions!
Please pass on our huge thanks for a wonderful holiday.
Hi, we were very happy with the house, location, facilities and Umbria. Thank you.
Dear Sylvia and Saskia,
Our family spent a week at Il Paradiso at the beginning of August 2014. I can honestly say that we had the most relaxing holiday ever here. In fact, on our last night we booked for next year; this time for 2 weeks. What we liked:
- The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. It has obviously been designed and furnished with great attention to detail and was very stylish.
- The pool area was great. The pool itself was large and had roman steps, useful for the kids; the views from the pool were amazing. Just beautiful. My husband and I spent lots of time just staring at the view!
- the gardens were totally private and full of things our children loved, especially the zip wire and swings. Because there was lots of grass they could run around very safely.
- the house is very secure, so much so that we locked ourselves out twice! Totally our fault, but Ricardo came round straight away both times and was very helpful and good humored. This really matters when you are in an unfamiliar environment.
- we loved the fact that the villa was so peaceful and surrounded by nature but very close to Assisi and other places to visit.
- the wifi was useful.
We really had a lovely time and the house and gardens were very beautiful, spacious, comfortable and clean. The owners were lovely and left us alone which is what we wanted, though we knew how to contact them if we had a problem, which we did not. They were very punctual in meeting us the night before we left to return our security deposit.
We had no problems at all. We loved that they left us the coffee (which we drank lots of and then replaced and left some more behind!). There was lots of condiments and extras, lovely home-made olive oil, a generous bottle of local wine, soap, cleaning stuff and what I loved (how sad am I ?!) clothes washing detergent and conditioner. We often find that if you do not find things left for us and we have to go buy it you have a very expensive holiday in time and money! This was not the case here – the owners were very generous with these things that made a great difference for us.
There were plenty of towels for in the house. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. There were screens on the windows for the flies (though they were not a huge issue really). Wood for the large BBQ and a small handy BBQ that we bought coal for and used.
The pool was quite cold for end June but then again the weather was not great unfortunately but that did not stop the kids from getting in and having fun. It was clean and had the net to clean the insects off each day. The views were spectacular.
The only suggestions would be that maybe leaving a bit more reading material around the place would be good. We left some bits behind so maybe that is a start! Also some music and instructions in relation to getting the music system working. There was only one panpipes CD there which did not really do it for us! Also the toys for the children were a little young for our lot aged 6-10. Maybe if there was a seat on the swing for the bigger child and there was a few more jigsaws or older lego etc that would be great. But wow, the pool table, hammock and zipwire made up for that hugely!
Thanks a million for a lovely holiday.
We had a really nice stay in the villa. The only hiccup of the entire stay was that we were unable to get the wifi to work on the property at all. I think my husband was able to get a signal twice in the 6 days we were there, but it was never strong enough for us to load a website or send an email. That was really frustrating, as the advertisement for the villa clearly said it had wifi, and my dad was planning to work via internet while we were there via internet but was unable to. We talked to Michela about it and she tried to help, but in the end it was decided that the thick stone walls and the hilly terrain just prevented the wifi from working. We were able to take the wifi with us into the towns and then use it there, which we told Michela as well. The rest of the stay was very nice. We found the grounds extremely kid-friendly, the house very nicely decorated and comfortable. Michela and Riccardo were there promptly at check in and check out, and the view from the house was extraordinary. They recommended a family friend as a babysitter and she was perfect, friendly and kind and on time. I think we would gladly return to the villa again on another vacation, as we adored Umbria and all the delicious food!
Thanks! Sally Rumsey
Villa in Umbria: WiFi internet works fine now!
We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in Il Paradiso Assisi. We stayed for nearly two weeks in July 2013 with our two small children. We found the villa exceptionally easy to reach and a very short drive from Perugia airport. The very friendly owners, Michela and Silvia, were there to meet us when we arrived and show us around the house. They could not have been kinder to us, even helping us out when we needed to print out our boarding passes later in the week by letting us come to their office. (there is no internet at the house which may bother some people but for us it was a welcome break!).
The villa itself is a fabulous mix of old and new, combining the rustic charm of an old farmhouse but having the advantage of many modern conveniences. Anything you could think of is there and very good quality. One thing in particular we noticed was the attention to detail in the entire house and grounds, it doesn’t feel like a holiday house at all, more like a nice well-kept family home. The house was very cool inside due to the thick stone walls which was a welcome relief in the midday heat and was also large enough inside to spread out. The bedrooms are very lovely and extremely comfortable. I was a bit worried about the lack of fans or air conditioning but it wasn’t a problem at all.
Outside there was so much space and very beautifully laid out with lavender and rosemary bushes and lovely fruit trees. The kids especially loved the swing set, hammock and zip wire plus it was completely safe to let them run around and play in the grounds as we were closed off from the road.
The highlight for us was the fantastic swimming pool, deep enough for adults to swim properly but also perfect for our little ones with the shallow steps. Was great to have the sun loungers and the table and chairs as shade and very useful to have the toilet and shower by the pool also.
The view from the swimming pool was absolutely breath taking, I took so many photos of it!
We particularly liked the fact the villa was very private and peaceful, yet in 10 minutes in the car you could be at Assisi. Best of both worlds. We went often for lunch or dinner in and around Assisi and could be home quickly when the kids were tired or wanted to jump in the pool.
Overall, I thought the standard of the Villa was excellent and ranks among the best holiday rentals I have ever stayed in. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, especially for families with kids.
Please pass on our thanks for a lovely stay!
Thanks, Anna - UK
Dear Willemijn and Saskia,
We had two wonderful weeks in Il Paradiso Assisi. What a fantastic house ! I don’t think we ever stayed in a house clean and well equipped like this one. The garden (with lots of play possibilities for children), its pool, the barbecue and pizzaoven, it was all just great. Maybe a bit more firewood would have been handy, but that would be really all we can comment.
We never give such positive comments, because the house will be rented out too easily or become too expensive and that’s not what we want. But this really is a good house and it deserves all compliments.
I hope we can return here, especially when our daughter is a little bit older.
Very best regards, Jaco, Katharina and Lotte - Germany

In Italy the tourism tax has been introduced. Each town can decide independently whether to apply this tax. It is important to keep in mind that the prices on our website do NOT include the tourism tax. Where we received confirmation from house owners that they have to ask for this tax, it is written underneath the price table.
